TTi Global South Africa Participating in Take a Girl Child to Work Day
TTi Global is excited to announce our involvement in South Africa’s Cell C's Take a Girl Child to Work Day on May 25th, which is targeted at Grade 10 to 12 South African girl learners, from all walks of life, giving them the opportunity to visit a place of work and to experience first-hand, the "world of work" and various career opportunities available in industry and within the public service sectors.
Cell C’s Take a Girl Child to Work Day allows girl leaners to spend a day in the working world, shadowing top executives and entrepreneurs. This experience opens a world of hope and dreams that inspires girls to work hard to achieve what they want to attain in life. It’s a practical step towards enabling them to make the connection between what they learn at school and their future career goals. An estimated 50,000 girls benefit annually as hundreds of companies around the country participate in the program.
Take a Girl Child to Work Day has been held in South Africa since 2003. Cell C first introduced the campaign to the South African business and government community, and in 2016 more than 700 corporations volunteered.
The Cell C’s Take a Girl Child to Work Day initiative has been voted as one of the country’s “single largest collaborative acts of volunteerism” by Brands and Branding South Africa.
