Lori Blaker, President & CEO of TTi Global, headquartered in Rochester Hills, Michigan, received the 2017 Community Excellence Award from Mayor Bryan K. Barnett on Monday April 10th for her outstanding accomplishments in Afghanistan.

Mayor Bryan K. Barnett of Rochester Hills, Michigan lauded TTi Global’ President/CEO Lori Blaker, for her landmark work in opening an automotive service and training center in Kabul, Afghanistan. The recognition was given at the 11th State of the City address held on Monday, April 10th at Rochester Adams High School.

The State of the City address is an annual event where business leaders, residents, and other government officials come together to hear the community’s highlights and planned initiatives. The theme of this year’s event was themed “Local Roots, Global Reach” and was inspired by the fact the Rochester Hills community members have great influence both at home and around the world.

“Tonight we proudly present Lori Blaker with the 2017 Community Excellence Award,” said Mayor Bryan K. Barnett. “We honor her fight for oppressed women in Kabul and around the globe. She is providing hope for a better world.”

In accepting the award Blaker stated. “Our operation in Afghanistan is humanitarian. It is a personal mission. After seeing the plight of women in Afghanistan, I wanted to make a difference. Before the US came, women had no rights. I am so proud that our office in Kabul is managed by women who oversee the finances and the daily operations. This is an example of what one private citizen can do - just imagine if groups of people came together to affect change.”
